I can’t actually remember the last time I wrote  a post on here. I have been quite busy writing posts for Girl Got Faith – an amazing award winning  girls christian online magazine (check it out !!). I have been also trying to sort out my life. I work in a school at the moment and the academic year is coming to an end, so I am looking for things to do after.

The job search has not been easy. When I see a job I want… it’s either I don’t have the experience or it’s too demanding like working on weekends etc. I don’t want to work on weekends because I want to go to church and I have responsibilities in the house of God. God comes first. But doubt started to creep in. Will I actually get a decent job in time? What do you want me to do God?

For this season of my life the verse God has given to me is ‘ Be still and know that I AM GOD’ (Psalms 46:10). But it’s easier said then done.. well for me it is. The other day I was reading my bible. I was reading James 1. In the beginning of this chapter it says the ‘testing of our faith produces perseverance’. Later on in the chapter is also speaks about doubt James 1:6-8:

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

Doubt is dangerous. You can’t doubt and have faith -they are opposites. Yes I know they say opposites attract but not on this occasion (lol). Doubt brings in its friends confusion and double- mindedness. As I was writing this I remembered the term ‘self- fulfilling prophecy’ something I learnt in GCSE sociology. Let me talk you through it using doubt as an example.

So are you are doubting God will do something for you , you end up getting  let by your emotions. This causes you to read the word less and stop praying about the situation. Because you have stopped praying you have stopped asking. In the word it clearly says ‘ask and you shall receive’. As a result you didn’t get what you wanted all because of your mindset and doubt (a bit mad isn’t it). Our mindset is powerful, this is why we are told to ‘set our minds on the things of above’. This just an sight to what I learnt this week and the journey I am going through at the moment (might do another post on the mind). This is just a little bit of what I learnt this week and just a bit of the journey. I like to be transparent with you guys and right now I don’t have that job but I know God plans are better than my own. The middle bits of a story is just as important as the ending.

Set your mind on the things of above

Things on this earth will fade away

But God won’t and neither will his love
